What is this site? Wait…who is this guy?

Good question! Hello! My name is Dallas Steffen.

I have many titles: a son, a brother, a boyfriend, a Minnesotan, a marketing specialist, and most relevant to this website, a writer.

Ever since I was a husky pip-squeak that ate too many PB&Js, I always wanted to write. I earned my college degree (Mass Communications, Major. Political Science, Minor) at Bemidji State University (Go Beavers!)

After giving journalism a try, I fell into the marketing rabbit hole. This was a decent (if not good career for me), as I get to make content. But what about a calling?

That’s where I hope writing and this website comes into play. Follow me as I continue my writing journey and discover what it really means to be a composed writer.

  • Everyone has a unique look on life. I am no different. This is just one of many experiences you could read about. I've read several book on writing and have been doing it all my life, so I thought, "Why not bring what I have to the writer's table?"

  • Just like there are different genres out there for any reader, this personal/writing-life blog is part self-help with writing advice and part writer's journey with my own personal take. There's tons of various (and often conflicting) advice on writing which I find interesting and worth sharing including my own observations.

  • If newspapers count, then technically yes. But I know what you are really asking.

Answer: Not yet, but I'll be trying. I am always working on something. And I bet there will be rejection slips, but I think life is a journey. So if this sounds at all interesting to you, tag along!
